Why choose Halls Locksmiths

Established in 1885, Halls Locksmiths is a family-run business in Nottingham, specialising in providing expert locksmithing services and high-quality security products.

Halls Locksmiths are approved members of the Master Locksmiths Association where all of our staff are checked thoroughly against the Criminal Records Association and have full accreditation with the Trading Standards “Buy with Confidence” scheme.

History

Currently run by Martin Hall, whose great-great grandfather, Clay Hall founded the company over 130 years ago, when the original shop was located at 65A Derby Road, Nottingham. After continued success, the shop later relocated to 95 Derby Road and expanded into 3 other shops in Beeston, Netherfield and Bulwell between 1910 and 1920.

The Great Depression in the early 1930’s lead to both the Netherfield and Bulwell shops closure and the company concentrated on the two remaining shops.

Following a further change, the shop located at 95 Derby Road moved up the hill to number 99. In 1962, Martin’s father Peter Hall took over the business and relocated it to 126-128 Derby Road, which at the time, was owned by Boots the chemist.

After many successful years of trading in this location, Halls Locksmiths moved again to the larger premises at 96-98 Derby Road in 1973. The business made its last move in 1983 to its present address at 88-92 Alfreton Road.
